RESPONSIBILITIES

In this role you will be responsible for producing captivating photorealistic indoor and outdoor levels in the game engine, including relevant lighting setup, instancing, and placement of other key level elements. You will find a balance between artistic aspects, technical constraints, and design consistency across the game world, helping us elevate the visual quality of our game to the next level. 

On a daily basis, you will report to the Lead Level Artist and Art Producer in your team, participating in meetings to review work and discuss progress regarding project deliveries. At a higher level, you will use your expert skills with Producers and Leads from other Departments to advance the discipline. 

  • Creation of modules and unique geometry for levels. 

  • Ability to work with tiles and trims workflow. 

  • Instancing of locations – architecture and props. 

  • Work with atmosphere and overall feeling. 

  • Set up first iterations of light scenarios. 

  • Team player with superb communication skills. 

REQUIREMENTS

  • 4+ years’ experience in a similar position. 

  • 1+ published project. 

  • Experience of working in game engines such as Unreal Engine, CryEngine, etc. 

  • Good understanding of lighting principles, composition, color-coding. 

  • Intermediate experience with any 3D modeling package and optimization techniques. 

  • Understanding of modular design. 

  • Understanding of resource balancing and experience in optimizing scenes. 

  • Ability to be proactive and objective in day-to-day problem-solving. 

  • Ability to manage your own time and work within deadlines. 

  • Good communication and English skills. 

 

Preferences

  • Artistic/architectural/engineering education or background. 

  • Versatility in used tools and performed tasks. 

  • Scripting experience with Unity and/or blueprint experience in Unreal. 

  • Understanding of both modern and legacy real-time rendering tech and PBR techniques (physically based rendering). 

  • Knowledge of additional software and procedural techniques for content creation and placement is a plus (ZBrush, XNormal, World Machine, Gaea, Speedtree, Substance Designer/Painter, Houdini, Blender's Geometry Node, Unreal's PCG etc.). 

  • Hardcore FPS gamer.
